Vision Campaign 2026

October, 2026

Friends—

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” -John 1:5

Sixteen years ago, a small light was
lit in the city of Pasadena
— a church plant which became The Chapel. This light began to grow as people were impacted by the gospel that was preached and the community of grace that developed.

Eleven years ago, this church found a physical home where we meet today. This building captured the spirit of our church perfectly: a place that facilitated and nurtured friendships; a historic building that called attention to our church’s roots in the traditions of our faith; and a strategic location near the center of Pasadena.

The church is not a building. The church is the people who have, and still today, and will one day call The Chapel home. People like Juani, who found our church as she was wrestling with life’s challenges and questioning the importance of faith. During her time at The Chapel, she came to understand the gospel of Jesus as the message of salvation. Her faith became personal, we baptized her, and now she is a light for Christ in Argentina as a professional soccer player! Our church is the people who, like Juani, experience and reflect the gospel together.

But our building is important. Here we gather on Sundays and have a visible presence in our community throughout the week. Here through the ups and downs, we strive to shine as a light in the midst of a dark world that needs the gospel of hope.

As we reflect on God’s faithfulness, we look forward to what God will do in the future. We believe that God wants our light
to shine even more in the coming years. God has placed us strategically in a city that needs the light of the gospel. We hope that, in the next season, The Chapel at Pasadena will grow in its impact in concrete ways.

To continue our ministry here, we need your help. When we purchased our building in 2015, the payment was structured to make
periodic balloon payments and, in 2027, we need to make one of these large payments. Over the next few months, we are seeking to raise $350,000.   $250,000 will go toward the balloon mortgage payment and $100,000 will go toward moving us into the new year on a more solid financial foundation.

We are calling this the Let Our Light Shine campaign because we don’t want this to only be about paying off a mortgage. We are
excited for this opportunity to strengthen our church community and to continue to let our light shine in our city.

Would you pray about how God would lead you to be a part of the   Let Our Light Shine campaign?

As our standard operating expenses remain ongoing, we ask that your support for this campaign be over and above your normal tithes or offerings.

We covet your prayers for God to provide the full amount that we need.

Pray also:

…that the light of Christ would be known and would grow in Pasadena and beyond.

…that The Chapel would be a lighthouse for the hurting, broken, and spiritually seeking.

…that the people of The Chapel would let our light shine in our lives and in our communities.

We are so grateful for your consideration!

In Christ,

Steven and the elders of The Chapel at Pasadena

[1]   Our initial goal was to secure $175K in matching funds. We are grateful to God that through   generous commitments, we now have $232K   available to match your gifts!   If we raise beyond the $350k goal, funds will be   used for the same vision of expanding our ministry into 2027.

PS As you pray and consider a campaign gift, please bring the PLEDGE portion of the enclosed card to The Chapel on 10/25 or send it in with the envelope provided.
